On Tuesday, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) received complaints that the ad in question, which ran on the company’s website for two weeks in September 2018, made disparaging comments about transgender people.
The ad included the words “transgender people are less intelligent, hard working and more likely to become pregnant.”
The ad was pulled from the company website on Friday.
The EEOC said it will investigate the ad.
The company said in a statement to Mashable that the advertisement violated its policies regarding discrimination against transgender people and the inclusion of transgender individuals in recruiting and other jobs, and will take appropriate action against those responsible.
The advertisement did not identify the company or the individuals who had complained about it, according to the EEOC.
